It was so nice to see you in Batesville, Steve! The location couldn't be more perfect. Our kids had a blast, and as always, we 2 enjoyed ourselves. We'll no doubt be in Waldenburg soon, but all effort will be put forth to visit the Lockhouse too-from time to time! XOXO~H & GW~

Dear Josie's crew,
I was with the college program at Josie's last night for karoke, and food ofcourse and heard the suggestion of a night for teenagers. One where a special menu would be made on certain nights so that teenagers could afford the food and one where we could also do karoke, or something to that effect. Well, I think it is a most splendid idea! I would definatley come as most often I could, I really think it would be a big hit and quite successful! Thankyou, Kristina

I came to Josies for the first time yesterday (with the APPLE Project) They asked my opinion on some things.....Yes, I think they should have menus and "special" kareoke nights for teens. The menu should include fries, burgers, nachos, desserts...ect. It would be a huge success. (By the way, the food was great)

Your website is great. I just typed in josiessteakhouse.com just to see....I didn't even know ya'll had a website. I am very impressed!! I have been telling everybody at work that they did to make the trip (from LR) to eat at Josie's. It's the best! I have already sent 4 different people to you....word of mouth is the best form of advertisement.
By the way, tell Brook and Alana that Miranda said HI and I MISS THEM!! :-)

Steve: Jonathan liked his hat and shirt. I picked up a customer survey today for you from Columbia cuban restaurant in ybor city, florida which you may want to use. One idea they used which you talked about was mailouts for events to members of Josies. They do it through email of course at no cost versus postage. Hope you have agood weekend at both of Josies.

Sir,
excuse me please as I cannot write in good English. Unfortunately I never have learnt the language.
I live in Waldenburg in Germany since 62 years and my village is celebrating in few weeks the foundation von 750 years.
For that reason I will try to get photographs from all the cyties or villages named Waldenburg and to show the photographs in the show-windows in my small shop.
I have found out around the world 6 villages or cities with the name Waldenburg, 2 in Germany, 1 in Poland, 1 in Switzerland and 1 in Michigan USA. From all I have got photographs for my plan to show the photographs.
Unfortunately I do not know a person in your Waldenburg who can help me. Therefore I would like to ask you if you know a person in your Waldenburg who will be so nice to send me a photograph to me E-mail address. The photograph should have a size from 300 dpi and taken with an electronic camera if possible.
My E-mail adress does be fotograf@eggersdorfernet.de and my Internetaddress does be
http://www.eggersdorfernet.de
Thousand thanks for your help and all the best for you
Yours sincerely
Rolf Eggersdorfer
PS: Your address I found in the Internet

It would be nice if you would consider adding one or two vegetarian options on your menu. I know it is a steakhouse but it makes eating out very difficult for people who, for whatever reason, choose not to eat meat or fish.
Please consider!

I love my community; however, I would rather not have to introduce myself and my dinner companion(s) to whomever I share my table with. Furthermore, if I must fix my own salad or excuse myself to the restroom I'd rather not move those sitting around me so that I may leave the table. Especially if I plan an evening out at one of Batesville's more expensive eateries. The food was great! Karoke was also great...just some constructive criticism. Good Luck in Batesville!

Welcome to Batesville!!! We are new to Batesville and were surprised at the "issues" involved in your efforts to open a restaurant here. Our neighbors have visited your Waldenburg location and really liked it. I signed the petition supporting Josie's coming to Batesville early on and I have my membership card in my wallet. Bring on the steaks and other fine food!!
Again, welcome.

I grew up in Batesville and moved back here about 6 months ago. When I was growing up, people went to Newport (at bodily risk through 30 miles of curving roads) in order to have access to beer, wine, etc. Although many may not know it, you could also get whatever you wanted locally if you knew where to go. I don't want to see a liquor store on every corner in Batesville, but I am so glad to have someplace to get a decent meal along with a glass of wine. We already have access to these as well as hard liquor through the 'Duck Blind' and the Country Club. The fact is that if someone wants to drink they're going to drink and no city, state or country's laws are going to stop them. Having said all of this, WELCOME TO BATESVILLE and congratulations on your success in getting that 5-0 vote. Quite frankly, I am amazed!

I've heard the radio ad and I don't see the dishonesty... if you've ever been to Josie's you wouldn't refer to it as a "club," that gives it a negative connotation. In most parts of the world, a glass of wine with dinner or a few beers on your night off isn't so controversial. Josie's has a family atmosphere and it will prove to be a positive, successful addition to the Batesville community. As a Lyon College Senior, I cannot wait for Josie's opening... excellent food, entertainment and karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights is a good, clean alternative for Batesvillians. Welcome to Batesville!

Your radio ad is misleading. You ask people to apply for membership to enjoy food and karaoke, no mention of alcohol. Honesty goes a long way. Since you are obviously seeking support for private club, why no admit that in your radio ads, thanks

I love your food, service and entertainment at Josie's. I recently has two guests from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and I took them to Josie's Karoke competition. They said it was the best steaks they had ever eaten. That's pretty good for someone from the New Orleans, Louisiana area! We ended up being judges for the Karoke contest. That was fun, but very difficult because of the talent that was there. I, along with some friends, attended the finals last night, 1-8-04 and the food was great (as usual) the service was wonderful (as usual) and the 5 contestants were super and I would not have wanted to be a judge. They were all excellent entertainers. I especially enjoyed Richey - he is quite an entertainer! I am anxious to go to your restaurant in Batesville. I am from Independence County (Newark). I personally do not drink, but I see nothing wrong in offering beer or wine with the meal. After all, when we go to restaurants in Little Rock, or Memphis, they serve drinks and I know when we are traveling through any State, we eat in restaurants that serve alcohalic beverages. I am sure knowing Steve Carpenter, he would not allow anyone to come in drunk or get drunk while there. I love Josie's and I am so happy we have something like that in Northeast Arkansas, and good luck in Batesville!

I'll start by saying that we are from Batesville.
We had heard great things about Josie's and we were sure it would be a nice place to go, BUT it wasn't just great, IT WAS BEYOND GREAT!!!!It was the best steak I think we've every had and the shrimp too. The entertainment was great and more than I expected. You have our support and will pass the word around along with the membership letters and make those calls to those listed in the newsletter.

I don't think there is anything wrong with beer or wine with a meal and look forward to your arrival in Batesville. Most of the people who are against it opening here, go to Little Rock and eat at restaurant's that serve alcohol, they may not drink it but they still are supporting them if they buy food. Think about!

I am estatic about your resturant coming to Batesville. I am always looking for a place that I can take my family and get good quality food. I don't think that Batesville should close there minds on the fact of having beer or wine in this town. If there were more resturants willing to sell the beer and wine Batesville would be prospering instead of everyone spending the money in different towns and counties! My hats are up for ya and can't wait to eat at the Josie's Lockhouse!! Thanks Stephanie

Enthusiastically hoping that Josies goes through in Batesville. It's about time that Batesville got a restaurant that serves high quality steaks and shrimp. To occupy such a scenic location as The Lockhouse is just an added bonus.
